Protect What Matters Most — Shop NowThe Department of Agriculture, in conjunction with the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment and key stakeholders, has organised a series of six farm hazardous waste collection days across the country this autumn.
For County Louth, the collection will take place at Ardee Livestock Sales on Wednesday, 23rd September, operating from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Important Guidelines & Requirements
Farmers attending the collection point must note that a herd number or equivalent Department registration will be strictly required upon entry. Furthermore, waste cannot be dropped off in advance.
⚠️ Safety & Segregation Rules
- Segregation: All waste must be strictly segregated before arriving at the collection point.
- Transport & Identification: All waste must be identifiable and transported safely. Mixed or unidentifiable waste will not be accepted.
- Sharps Safety: Needles, syringes, and other sharp objects must be placed in separate sealed containers.
- Operating Hours: Wednesday, 23rd September, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Ardee Livestock Sales.

Building on strong engagement from previous years—which saw an impressive 207,000kg of hazardous waste collected during the 2025 collection days—these initiatives provide a vital, safe disposal route for Irish agriculture.
