€239,000 Funding Boost for 82 Louth Community Projects
From the Irish Wheelchair Association in Ardee to local sports clubs, 82 community and voluntary groups across Louth have secured new government funding.
A total of €239,000 has been awarded to 82 community projects in County Louth under the 2026 Local Enhancement Programme. This initiative, part of the Government’s Our Rural Future policy, provides capital funding to support small-scale projects that improve community facilities and encourage participation in local life.

Supporting Vital Services
Successful applicants received grants ranging from €500 to €5,000 to assist with upgrading facilities, purchasing essential equipment, and maintaining vital services. Cllr Kevin Meenan, Chairperson of Louth Local Community Development Committee (LCDC), welcomed the news, highlighting that community and voluntary groups play a vital role in local towns and villages.
