National Services Day Set to Bring Emergency Vehicles and Mock Rescue to Drogheda

National Services Day is rolling into Drogheda this Saturday, 5th September 2026, taking over Fiddle Case Pier on Merchant Quay from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The free public event brings together an array of emergency services and voluntary organisations eager to meet the community and showcase the vital work they carry out day in and day out.

Don’t Miss the Live Mock Traffic Accident at 3:00 PM

While visitors can explore vehicles and chat with responders throughout the afternoon, the major highlight of the day takes place at 3:00 PM sharp.

Organisers have staged a dramatic live mock traffic accident demonstration. Spectators will get an up-close look at emergency personnel in action as they coordinate seamlessly to assess casualties, administer medical treatment, and safely extricate simulated victims from a wreckage.

The event offers a brilliant, family-friendly platform to appreciate the extraordinary teamwork, training, and equipment required when responding to high-stakes emergencies, while thanking the dedicated organizations who stand ready whenever our community needs them most.

Organisers also extended a special word of thanks to the **Boyne Fisherman’s Rescue & Recovery Service** for helping spread the word by putting up posters across various parts of the town ahead of the weekend.
