Final Call: Women Across Louth Urged to Sign Up for 15th Northeast Dip in the Nip

Have you been thinking about taking part in the Dip in the Nip this year? Maybe you mentioned it to a friend, thought about gathering a group of women, or looked at the registration page and told yourself you’d decide later?

Well, later has officially arrived. With registration closing on **31st August 2026**, organisers are making a heartfelt final appeal to every woman across County Louth who has been on the fence: come on ladies, we need you.

If the friend you planned to go with can’t make it, or if you haven’t managed to organise a group, organizers stress that you shouldn’t let that stop you. You can come on your own. The moment you arrive on the private beach, you are instantly surrounded by women of all ages and walks of life who are there for the exact same purpose.

Why Women Take the Plunge

Taking place on **Sunday, 13th September 2026**, the 15th Northeast Dip in the Nip brings hundreds of women together for a truly unforgettable morning. For a few brief minutes, participants leave the stresses of everyday life behind and walk into the sea as one, raising critical funds for NECRET and cancer services at the North East Oncology Unit in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

For a decade and a half, women have taken part for deeply personal reasons. Some dip in memory of loved ones lost, others to support friends or family currently fighting cancer, and many are survivors themselves. Whatever brings each participant to the shore, they share an unbreakable bond.

Organisers are also encouraging local businesses, shops, salons, and offices across Ardee to get behind their team members. If you’re hoping to take part, why not ask your boss or company to sponsor you or rally support from customers and colleagues? Having local workplaces backing participants adds an incredible layer of community spirit to the morning.

You don’t need to be super-fit or worry about perfection—you just need to be a woman over 18 ready to say, *”Go on. I’ll do it.”*
