Shelbourne Stage Dramatic Comeback to Sink Dundalk at Tolka Park
Shelbourne came from behind to earn a huge three points against Dundalk in a scintillating encounter, closing the gap in the league standings to just a single point.

Under the stewardship of interim manager Lorcan Fitzgerald, Shelbourne demonstrated remarkable resilience in a pulsating Tolka Park fixture. Despite missing their attacking trio of Mipo Odubeko, John Martin, and Sean Boyd, the Reds showed the battling spirit required to overcome their fourth-place rivals.
Early Setback
The visitors started with intensity, “like a house on fire,” finding the breakthrough just four minutes into the match. Daryl Horgan delivered a pinpoint cross from the right, which was brilliantly powered home at the near post by JR Wilson, who made no secret of his satisfaction in scoring against his former club.
The Turnaround
Though Shelbourne initially looked light in attack, the game shifted dramatically in the second half. Two goals in the space of three minutes turned the contest on its head. First, Daniel Kelly reacted quickest to a loose ball in the area to level the scores. Moments later, Kelly turned provider, finding Rodrigo Freitas at the back post, who cleverly set up Harry Wood for the decisive finish.
